Senior Technical Analyst - Data Warehouse Developer

Position overview

We have a full-time opportunity for an innovative Senior Technical Analyst – Data Warehouse Developer. This role will be part of the Advanced Analytics team, seeking a skilled Data Warehouse Developer with expertise in Azure Databricks technologies. If you are passionate about data, enjoy hands-on experience in data modelling, and have a successful track record of migrating from on-premises data warehouses to the cloud, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance data warehouse and Lakehouse solutions using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and hybrid/on-premises environments, leveraging best practices in data modeling and architecture.
  • Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines (batch and streaming) using modern ELT frameworks, including medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold), ensuring data quality, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain data architecture roadmaps, align platform capabilities with evolving enterprise architecture, governance standards, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust, maintainable data solutions, effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Establish and enforce data governance, security, and quality standards, including data lineage, access controls, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Optimize data processing and storage performance, including cost management and query tuning across cloud and on-prem platforms.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering workflows, including version control, automated testing, and deployment.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data models, and operational procedures.

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent, or comparable education with minimum 10 years’ post degree experience working with data warehouse and developing business intelligence solutions. 
  • Knowledge and expertise with virtual server platforms, storage devices, cloud computing, relational databases and Data and Analytics. 
  • Good experience with data prep, data integration (ETL), data modelling, along with proficiency in working with Azure Databricks, experience with SQL and Python
  • Experience in project, vendor and relationship management including mentoring junior resources.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, from end users to senior leaders.
  • Expert level knowledge of technologies underlying assigned systems as well as expert level of critical thinking, analytical skills and troubleshooting capability.

Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. This helps us meet federal language obligations while ensuring welcoming experience. Candidates who do not speak French are still strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary Range : $102,693 to $134,213 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
