Senior Business Analyst

Position overview

We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Senior Business Analyst in the Innovation & Technology department. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services (Airport Applications), the successful candidate will have a strong background in operational systems implementation, as well as business analysis and technical program management expertise to manage the business and technology aspects of airport systems that are composed of multiple, complex business processes and technology systems.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of technology systems, which includes: incident review and resolution, change management, vendor management, relationship management and business unit support
  • Configuring, designing, testing, and troubleshooting vendor packaged solutions and their integrations.
  • Leading system implementations while ensuring issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Eliciting and articulating user, system and operational requirements including, but not limited to, development of process maps / flows and process descriptions, requirements workshops, scope definition, feature definition, use case development, and business analysis
  • Developing business cases, including cost/benefit analyses
  • Recommending and implementing business solutions in response to the documented business requirements from various departments
  • Translating documented requirements into functional specifications
  • Preparing and delivering presentations; facilitating business requirements and process review workshops
  • Facilitating project deliverables and liaising with technical and business staff on the development and actualization of the requirements
  • Documenting business workflows with an appropriate business tool such as Visio

Key qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience implementing and supporting enterprise-class applications within medium to large organizations, including at least 5 years of senior-level business analysis and project management experience, supplemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Professional certification in one or more of the following is required: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), and/or certification in relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders through strong interpersonal, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities of varying complexity in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate business needs into effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including successful delivery of medium-scale projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strong documentation skills, including experience developing business requirements, process flows, and workflow documentation.
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and fostering collaborative partnerships.

Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. Salary Range : $102,693 to $134,213 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
