Technical Analyst - Network

Position overview
We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Technical Analyst – Network in the Infrastructure department. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services the Technical Analyst will be responsible for ensuring YVR has a zero-downtime functioning network, which is even more critical as YVR continues to move to more cloud-based applications. The network is the critical linkage of almost all YVR technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with the Network team to ensure high availability of the network for all mission and non-mission critical airport systems, including identifying and rectifying network-related fault, problem, configuration, performance, and security-related issues.
- Assist in gathering requirements and provide design inputs for technical and functional aspects.
- Identify and estimate work effort and executes technical tasks for project activities.
- Contribute to preparing and reviewing technical documentation for support teams to ensure documentation meets YVR standards and general best practice in completion, accuracy, and appropriateness.
- Responsible for identifying and gathering technical specifications and requirements for all systems, as assigned, for support, maintenance, and projects.
- Monitor trend analysis on network performance, availability and reliability as well as make recommendations to improve the overall performance and reliability of the network.
Key qualifications include:
- Completion of a two to three year technical or community college certificate or diploma in Computer Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5 years’ recent related experience working with, supporting, and planning enterprise networks.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and other industry relevant certifications are an asset.
- Comfortable with standard enterprise networking and security principle.
- Strong communication and written skills, along with demonstrated presentation and negotiation skills with vendors, senior management, and leadership.
- Project Management, Service Management best practices.
- Experience with Cloud, preferably Azure.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $90,039 to $117,674 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
