Operations Program Specialist - Flow

Position overview
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Operations Program Specialist - Flow. Reporting to the Manager, Airport Flow, you will be responsible for analyzing statistics on operational performance and using that information to coordinate new hire training; develop, monitor and implement new processes; consult on project work; and review, update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining relationships with Airport Authority teams and contracted partners for the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC)
- Acting as the technical lead for Operations/Flow Management for project consultation
- Analyzing statistics on operational/flow management performance
- Managing projects from project planning to measuring success
- Coordinate training for new hires in the IOC, including compiling training materials and building a training schedule pertaining to Flow Management.
- Development and on-going support of the Operations Live Dashboard.
- Providing incident and emergency management support, including participating in emergency management exercises and responding to the Emergency Operations Centre to assist with actual emergencies
Key qualifications include:
- At least four years’ extensive experience working in a major international airport, including experience working in an airport operations centre, supplemented by a two-year college certificate or diploma in Aviation Operations or a related field (bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business, Operations or Logistics is preferred); or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of Maximo, Cisco, Digital Twin and Power BI Tools
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including professional facilitation, presentation and writing skills
- Demonstrated negotiation and decision-making skills with the ability to formulate decisions without established guidelines
- Strong project management skills
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.
Salary Range : $72,008 to $94,115 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
