Manager, Maintenance Services

Position Overview
The Manager, Maintenance Services oversees all facets of maintenance operations including facility, airplane stand, groundside, lighting, high voltage and plant. They will lead maintenance staff and contractors to ensure operational requirements are met.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as technical operational management representative, liaising with stakeholders to coordinate work and resolve issues
- Manage and coordinate all maintenance work involving multidisciplinary teams to deliver and maintain assets in alignment with the greater strategy
- Direct, coach and provide guidance and leadership to employees, promoting a respectful workplace environment; administer processes such as hiring, performance management, disability management and attendance management
- Provide input and review into the development of Standard Operating Procedures, technical instructions and reference documentation
- Identify and recommend resolutions to issues through investigations, root cause analysis and specialized studies
Key qualifications include:
- Five years’ experience working in an airport and/or industrial plan environment, supplemented by a post-secondary education (i.e., trade certification) and/or Bachelor’s in Applied Science, Science or Engineering or the equivalent; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience conducting and facilitating field reviews and inspections as part of work quality reviews and asset lifecycle assessments and repairs, as well as developing and working with M Maximo and Qlik Sense
- Demonstrated skills and expertise in incident and operations management
- Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues that could become a risk to safety
Shift and weekend work are at times required as the Airport Authority’s Facilities Maintenance Department is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This position is open to Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.
As part of our recruitment process, short-listed candidates will be required to participate in a leadership assessment.
Salary Range : $100,640 to $144,670 per annum, based on a 40 hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus target at 15% of your annual salary.
