Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Position overview
We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Director, Financial Planning and Analysis in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, the Director is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for driving financial clarity, discipline, and enabling performance across YVR.
This role is responsible for leading the financial planning and reporting processes at YVR. This leader is charged with building a team that provides support across the organization through effective forecasting and budgeting, supporting decision making through analysis and modelling, and by synthesizing business performance through management reporting, dashboards, and commentary.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a high-performing FP&A team while fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and provide actionable insights that influence strategic decisions.
- Partner with operational leaders to align financial goals with business objectives and long-term strategy.
- Lead the annual budgeting and ongoing quarterly forecasting processes
- Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario analysis and strategic initiatives.
- Educate and empower non-finance leaders to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Leverage financial systems, data analytics tools, and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Continuously evaluate and implement innovative solutions to modernize processes.
Key qualifications include:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A or corporate finance, including at least 5 years in a leadership role supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field or a combination of equivalent training and experience.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Familiarity with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO)
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Strong understanding of both the airline industry and airport business models is an asset.
- Proven track record of driving financial discipline and process improvement.
Year One Critical Success Factors
- Build a high‑performing FP&A function by developing talent, clarifying accountabilities, strengthening financial discipline, and embedding a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
- Establish the FP&A function as a trusted strategic partner by developing deep knowledge of YVR’s business, strategy, and operating environment, and by providing clear, actionable insights that influence executive and enterprise‑level decision‑making.
- Deliver modern, reliable, and insight‑driven planning and reporting through a successful budget and forecast cycle, robust financial models, and streamlined reporting and analytics that improve accuracy, efficiency, and performance visibility across the organization.
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $142,720 to $214,080 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
