Payroll and Benefits Administrator

We are looking for a highly skilled and customer-focused Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Total Rewards Department. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll and benefits services while maintaining compliance with all regulatory and collective agreement requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Process and administer payroll accurately and on time for all YVR employees, including salaried, hourly, and unionized employees, ensuring compliance with regulations and tax laws.
- Interpret and apply collective agreement provisions related to wages, overtime, shift premiums, statutory holiday pay, leaves, and other payroll-related entitlements.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including time and attendance, vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave, while ensuring confidentiality and adhering to data privacy regulations
- Review, validate, and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide exceptional service by responding to employee, manager, and union inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and leave administration with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health and dental plans, pension plans, and other perquisites, and process employee changes accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and process payroll-related documentation, including Records of Employment (ROEs), remittances, year-end reporting, and T4 statements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, and operational teams to support employee lifecycle activities and ensure accurate and timely processing of related updates.
Key qualifications include:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role in a unionized environment with a proven track record of success
- Completion of NPI (National Payroll Institute) PCP Program and accounting courses, or a combination of equivalent training and experience
- Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce, UKG, and SuccessFactors, or payroll and HRM systems experience is highly desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills to manipulate and analyze complex data sets with ease
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. This helps us meet federal language obligations while ensuring a welcoming experience. Candidates who do not speak French are still strongly encouraged to apply.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $78,160 to $117,240 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
