Co-op Student – Baggage Operations

Position Overview

The Vancouver Airport Authority has one (1) full-time opportunity for a co-op position in the Baggage Operations Department for up to a 4-month term starting May 2025. The successful candidate will support operational transformation by developing and standardizing key documentation that contributes to the department’s vision of delivering a Next Generation Baggage Service our guests can rely on. This role will provide hands-on experience in change management, stakeholder engagement, and communications – all while aligning with the Airport Authority’s Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Researching, updating, and drafting baggage ORAT (Operational Readiness and Transition) documentation to support the upcoming Self-Serve Bag Drop (SSBD) project.
  • Reviewing and maintaining the Baggage Operations SharePoint site to ensure alignment and clarity across teams. 
  • Developing templates and drafting key Bag Hall Safety Directives in collaboration with stakeholders to ensure operational safety and consistency.
  • Supporting internal communication efforts, including recognition programs and awareness campaigns tied to project readiness.
  • Engaging stakeholders to validate content and iterate on documentation on coordinated readiness across operational departments.

Key Qualifications include:

The individual will have the following:

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Enjoys working in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-orientation with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and work well independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and excellence.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate meetings, take clear and concise notes and present information confidently in group settings.

Salary Range : $24.08/hr + Living Wage top up to $27.05/hr
