Co-op Student – Commercial Services, Passenger Experience

Position Overview

The Vancouver Airport Authority has one (1) full-time opportunity for a co-op position in Commercial Services Department for up to a 4-month term starting May 2025. The Commercial Services Team manages non-aeronautical revenue from the terminal commercial program covering retail, F&B and parking at YVR. The successful candidate will develop, analyze, coordinate and implement initiatives that are consistent with, and will facilitate, the Airport Authority’s Strategic Plan.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Lead feasibility study of a strategic commercial project
• Conduct market research to understand travel retail landscape, customer trends, industry development and economic factors
• Work closely with internal YVR departments to determine key input for the project
• Build financial models to review project profitability and returns
• Prepare reports on research findings and business proposal presentation

Key Qualifications include:

The individual will have the following:

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Enjoys working in an exciting and fast-paced environment
• Strong business acumen and knowledgeable in business financials 
• Curiosity in retail and omnichannel digital commerce
• Detail-oriented with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities and work well independently
  Current 3rd or 4th year student, preferably majoring in Business / Management / Finance / Accounting

After completing the co-op term, you can expect to learn more about the lifecycle of commercial program in the travel industry. You will get unique exposure to airport operation while collaborating with YVR internal stakeholders. The assigned project focusing on business analysis and investment assessment will also offer the opportunity to test your planning and analytical skillset in a sophisticated business environment.

Salary Range : $24.08/hr + Living Wage top up to $27.05/hr
