Reporting to the Manager, Parking and Ground Transportation Operations, the Terminal Coordinator (Groundside) plays a critical role in ensuring operational readiness, safety, and integration of groundside projects, programs, and activities at YVR.
This position provides subject matter expertise for groundside terminal operations, with a strong focus on construction readiness, operational planning, stakeholder coordination, and change management. The role ensures that groundside construction, facility changes, and system outages are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory, aerodrome safety, and security requirements while minimizing impacts to airport operations, passengers, and partners.
Key responsibilities include:

- Ensure operational readiness and safety by reviewing projects through the FAP process, contributing to Project Approval Requests (PARs) and business cases, participating across the project lifecycle, leading integrated operational trials, and conducting hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Coordinate groundside activities and stakeholders by aligning project requirements with current and future operations, engaging internal teams and external partners, balancing competing priorities, and communicating updates, impacts, and readiness plans.
- Support project execution and performance tracking by monitoring contractor deliverables, developing operational documentation and training, attending construction meetings, tracking actions and risks, and supporting service levels, KPIs, and reporting.
- Monitor and mitigate groundside operational impacts by coordinating construction and maintenance activities across stakeholders, identifying and addressing conflicts, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies, and working with terminal partners to manage closures or changes to shared resources, equipment, and space.
Key qualifications include:
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in an airport or similarly complex operational environment, focused on project delivery, construction management, or operations, supported by a 2–3 year technical or community college diploma/degree in Airport Operations, Operations Management, Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to engage, facilitate, and negotiate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong experience in operational planning and readiness, including process and procedure analysis, development, and implementation.
- Solid understanding of construction practices, contracts, safety standards, and building systems, with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Excellent analytical, decision‑making, communication, and technical writing skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and related productivity tools.
