Senior Technical Analyst - Network

Position overview
We have an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Senior Technical Analyst – Network in the Infrastructure department. Reporting to the Manager, Technology Services the Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for determining the required strategy and technical architecture, leading technical decisions, leading projects, managing day to day operational activities, guiding other internal and external resources in project tasks and issue resolution, managing vendors, identifying opportunities for improvement, and presenting to senior management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strategies for all systems in assigned portfolio, including but not limited to enhancements, patching, security, upgrade, backup and disaster recovery strategies, incorporating requirements from the business and other IT departments.
- Ensuring Preventative Maintenance Plans and troubleshooting guides are created for assigned systems, in consultation with suppliers.
- Writing IRFs and PARs and create all required PMO documentation.
- Managing the gathering of technical requirements and designing inputs for technical and functional components of systems.
- Creating process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to internal and external resources.
- Developing and conducting peer reviews of the business and technical requirements to ensure that requirements are correctly interpreted
- Managing hardware and software contracts, including required licensing. Ensuring that YVR has purchased required licenses to cover installed hardware and software.
- Responsible for preparing technical documentation for support teams and reviewing support documentation for transition. Transition involves interacting with customers, team members, contractors, and, where applicable, Helpdesk or other.
Key qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, supplemented by 10 years of post-degree experience working with, supporting, and delivering IT systems in Microsoft, Cisco, Linux, and Azure/AWS environments.
- One or more of the following formal certifications are required: Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE. Palo Alto PCNSE, AWS Solutions Architect, F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS).
- Knowledge of technologies underlying assigned systems
- Strong vendor management, project management and relationship management skills
- Organizational, coordination, leadership, coaching, mentoring, negotiating, facilitating, time/risk management, people management and documentation skills
- Experience with Cloud, preferably Azure.
This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $99,945 to $130,621 per annum, based on 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
