Co-op Student – Airport Capacity

Position Overview

The Airport Capacity Team is looking for engineering/sciences co-op students to support airport capacity and operation planning through analytical assessments of passenger, baggage and aircraft demand and system capacity. Reporting to the Manager of Airport System Design, students will be collaborating and assisting stakeholders to develop process definitions, inputs and assumptions required to accurately reflect current or future processing capacity requirements.

Specific tasks include but not limited to:

• Data mining and analysis of Aircraft, Passenger, Baggage and Vehicle movements
• Process mapping and discrete event simulation modelling
• Time and motion studies and operation performance analysis
• Enterprise Asset Management and Maintenance Planning
• Electromechanical, materials and industrial engineering design projects
• Interface with operations stakeholders and draft engineering recommendations 
• Support operations team with various operational issues

Key Qualifications:

The individual will have the following:

• Solid organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong initiative and leadership skills
• Must be able to work effectively in a team and be readily able to adapt to change and evolving priorities
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Excellent data analytical skills
• Knowledge in data analytics and applied statistics a definite asset

Salary Range : $24.08/hr + Living Wage top up to $27.05/hr
